Clinical research & Clinical trials

Clinical research is a branch of medical science that determines the safety and effectiveness of medications, devices, diagnostic products and treatment regimens for human use. These may be used for prevention, treatment, diagnosis or for relief of symptoms in a disease

Clinical trials are conducted to allow safety and efficacy data to be collected for new drugs or devices. These trials can only take place once satisfactory information has been gathered on the quality of the product and its clinical safety.
